About this programme

The Master’s programme in Mathematical Data Science is a four-semester, 120-credit programme that combines a strong mathematical foundation with modern data science training. Students take core modules in Mathematics of Machine Learning, Numerical Methods for Data Science and Practical Foundations of Data Science, giving them both theoretical depth and hands-on experience. The programme also offers substantial flexibility through elective courses, e.g. in functional analysis, mathematical statistics, mathematical data science, and applications, complemented by courses in ethics and interdisciplinary or language skills. At the end of the programme, students complete a 30-credit Master’s thesis. Overall, Mathematical Data Science is designed for students who want to understand data science at a rigorous mathematical level while developing practical skills for research and applications.
