About BestUniversities.world: How the Fee Data Is Collected
How BestUniversities.world collects tuition fees and entry requirements from national registers and universities' own pages, what each honesty tier means, and why a gap is shown as a gap.
Where the figures come from
Every programme on this site was read from a register the country itself publishes, or from the university's own admissions portal. Nothing is estimated, modelled or filled in by hand from a pattern: where a source publishes no fee, the page says so instead of guessing one.
Universities read from their own admissions portal
71 universities across 16 countries run their admissions on DreamApply, which publishes a page per course carrying the fee, the length, the language, the award and the entry requirements. Those pages were read at the crawl delay each portal asks for, and only the paths its robots.txt allows.

How sure we are of a figure
Each university record carries the level of checking behind it. Verified means a person opened the university's own fee page and read the number off it. Official means it came from a national register or the university's own portal, unread by a person. Listed means the university is in the catalogue because a ranking or registry names it, and little more is published about it here. A tuition figure also says what it rests on: the university's own fee page, a national dataset, a statutory rate set by law, or the range across the programmes it publishes.

What is missing
Most universities in the world publish no international tuition figure in any machine-readable form, and this site does not invent one for them. Coverage is deepest where a country runs a central register — the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Japan, Germany, Poland, Spain, Italy, Türkiye, Chile — and thinnest where admissions are handled university by university. Where a rate is published only on a university's own page, it is read by hand, one at a time, and the list grows slowly.
