About this programme

This programme aims to equip students, building on a foundation in the natural sciences, to solve technical and scientific problems using modern scientific and technical methods, thereby enabling them to develop practical professional skills at an early stage. This objective requires a solid foundational education in core engineering and natural science disciplines. Students must also develop the ability to recognise essential connections within complex situations, including competencies in the application of technical and theoretical knowledge. Additionally, the development of key professional skills — such as strong communication and teamwork abilities, the capacity to independently familiarise oneself with new subject areas, and effective work organisation — plays a crucial role. Furthermore, during a two-semester stay at the École Européenne d’Ingénieurs en Génie des Matériaux (EEIGM) in Nancy, France, students will receive specialised instruction in applied foreign language skills in French and English as well as intercultural competence.
