Entry qualification and requirements
High school / secondary education (or higher) Students must have attended school for at least 11 years and hold a full and final high school diploma, school leaving certificate, or an equivalent qualification issued upon completion of their secondary education. You can obtain professional translations either in your country or in Italy, and they can be issued by professional translators, a local court of law or court interpreters.
Language requirements
English ENGLISH A B2 level of English language is required for all students. As proof of a student’s English language level we accept specific international exams, a list of which can be found here . Some examples: IELTS TOEFL Pearson Cambridge English Language Assessment University Language Centre (C.L.A.) Ca’ Foscari University of Venice Other universities certification must be a “Language Certificate” OR a “Certificate of Attendance and Advancement” and should state the level awarded We do NOT accept DUOLINGO as a valid English language certification.
Other requirements
A motivation letter must be added to your application. Students will be evaluated on their motivation. The motivation letter must be original, specific to the Ca’ Foscari Foundation Year, and must address each of the following questions : 1) is taking a Foundation Year necessary for you, or are you applying out of interest? 2) what specific feature of the Ca’ Foscari Foundation Year programme made you decide to apply? 3) what Bachelor or subject area do you want to study afterwards? Students who do not specifically answer the above questions in their own words will not pass the first stage of selection. Students should be aware that motivation letters written through the use of AI are clearly identifiable.
