About this programme

In the financial and insurance sectors, an increasing importance is being placed on in-depth knowledge of and expertise in modern financial mathematics and actuarial science as well as the ability to apply these statistically and numerically. The distance learning programme is aimed at graduates of mathematics or other subjects with significant proportions of mathematics who wish to acquire a detailed understanding of financial mathematics. Examples of topics the modules focus on include: Financial mathematics Interest rate models Insurance mathematics Financial statistics Risk measures and rating systems Economics of banking Financial decision making Computational finance For interested mathematicians with professional experience who wish to acquire a deeper understanding of financial mathematics in a focused one-year programme without obtaining a (further) Master's degree, we offer the distance learning programme in “ Applied Financial Mathematics ”.
