About this programme

This binational study programme, duly certified by the Franco-German University, seamlessly integrates German studies with coursework in Romance languages and comparative literature. Students from both countries spend their first year in Toulouse. They then complete their second year in Düsseldorf by undertaking a Master's thesis in language, literature, culture, or media studies. The thesis will be supervised and evaluated jointly by French and German faculty. The topic will be based on the profile of the programme. During the second year in Düsseldorf, students can choose between a concentration in linguistics and a concentration in literature. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will be awarded a Master of Arts in German Studies from Heinrich Heine University and a maîtrise in Lettres Modernes from Université Jean Jaurès. The programme can only be started in the winter semester, which corresponds to the beginning of the French academic year. Students can receive an Erasmus grant for the duration of their stay abroad.
