Entry qualification and requirements
Undergraduate / Bachelor diploma (or higher) Applicants must hold a university bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent college degree) in the fields listed below. Full credit acknowledgement is only given for a bachelor’s degree in English and American Studies. In the case of a Bachelor’s degree in Hungarian Studies, Germanic Studies, Romance Studies, History and Liberal Art , each degree will be considered individually, and transcripts from your BA degree as well as course descriptions will be requested. The applicant must have 50 credits (but at least 38 to enter the programme) from the field of English and American Studies (30 credits from American English language, American literature and culture). The educational and outcome requirements are defined by the Ministry of Human Capacities, Regulation No. 18/2016. ( VIII . 5.). Details of the application and admission process are defined by the Organisational and Operational Regulations of ELTE . The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the origin
Language requirements
English Admission to the master’s programme requires a state-recognised advanced-level ( C1 ), comprehensive language examination in English, or an equivalent secondary school-leaving certificate or diploma. Accepted certificates at minimum C1 level CEFR : TOEFL IBT : 95-120 IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 7.0 Cambridge CAE , CPE

A motivation letter must be added to your application. - Secondary school certificate. Notarized copy only on request - Bachelor-level degree. An official copy of your completed Bachelor degree - Transcript of record - CV: Curriculum Vitae in English, in MS Word format with one low resolution photo - Motivation letter: a maximum of 500 words - Copy of the main pages of the passport. Scanned, in colour, all personal details and expiry date must be shown. Passport must be valid - Copy of the Application fee payment receipt - Copy of the Entrance exam fee payment receipt - Language certificate.
