First-cycle (undergraduate) study at a Greek public university is free of charge for home and international students alike, and course textbooks are provided free; the exceptions are the Hellenic Open University and undergraduate programmes taught in a foreign language, which are aimed at international students and do charge. Master's programmes may charge, and many do: the fee is set in each programme's own regulation, so check the programme page. Students still pay for living costs and, in foreign-language programmes, for tuition.
