About this programme
A Research Master is a two-year postgraduate programme with a strong emphasis on research and individual academic work. It is intended for students preparing for an academic or research-oriented career. The Research Master in Archaeology is aligned with research areas represented at Leiden University and connected to ongoing work within the Faculty. The programme is embedded in the research environment, and students are expected to engage with current debates, methodologies, and theoretical developments in the field. RMA students follow modular courses together with MA students, yet, there will be differentiation in the learning objectives and assignments between MA and RMA. This includes further development of analytical and methodological skills, and the positioning of their work within broader scholarly discussions.
